Tour Plan
Arrive in Amman, Jordan’s modern yet historically rich capital. After airport pickup and hotel check-in, gather with your group for a welcome dinner. Soak in the city's atmosphere as the call to prayer echoes through ancient hillsides. Get briefed on the adventure ahead and rest up for a week of discovery.
Explore Amman’s historical treasures, starting with the ancient Citadel and Roman Theater, offering sweeping city views. Walk through bustling downtown souks, stop at cafés for mint tea or kanafeh, and delve into the Jordan Museum to trace the nation’s deep past. The evening is yours to enjoy Amman’s cosmopolitan dining or explore Rainbow Street’s vibrant culture.
Take a day trip north to Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy. Wander through colonnaded streets, grand amphitheaters, and temples frozen in time. Continue to Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century Islamic stronghold with panoramic mountain views. Return to Amman, reflecting on Jordan’s blend of Greco-Roman and Islamic heritage.
Depart Amman via the scenic King's Highway. First stop: Madaba, known for its stunning Byzantine mosaics, including the famous Map of the Holy Land. Then climb Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have glimpsed the Promised Land. Stop for photos at Wadi Mujib (Jordan’s Grand Canyon) and visit Karak Castle, a Crusader fortress. Arrive in Petra by evening.
Spend a full day exploring the world wonder that is Petra. Enter through the Siq, a narrow gorge that opens dramatically onto the Treasury, one of the most iconic monuments in the world. Wander past royal tombs, climb to the Monastery or the High Place of Sacrifice, and lose yourself in the city's ancient silence. Enjoy an optional candlelit Petra by Night experience.
Begin the day at Little Petra, a quieter Nabatean site with unique rock carvings and caves. Then head south to the cinematic wilderness of Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon. Hop into 4x4 jeeps for a desert safari across red dunes, surreal rock formations, and ancient petroglyphs. Spend the night in a Bedouin camp, with traditional music, food, and stargazing under Jordan’s clear desert sky.
Depending on the season and group preference, either head to Aqaba on the Red Sea for a day of relaxing beaches and snorkeling in crystal waters, or to the Dead Sea for a surreal floating experience in the world’s saltiest body of water. Indulge in natural mud treatments and spa comforts. Celebrate your final night with a group dinner and share stories of your Jordanian journey.
After breakfast, transfer back to Amman for your departure flight. Bid farewell to Jordan with your heart full of memories—from rose-red ruins and golden deserts to cultural insights and warm Bedouin hospitality. Until next time, Mamu Travels is here to guide your next adventure.
